Total Defence And I [ENGLISH COMPULSORY TOPIC]

Total Defence helps us Singaporeans to learn how to respond to threats and challenges which falls under many categories such as diseases like SARS and the Bird Flu and threats like terrorism. To face the challenge and overcome it, it involves the effort of each and every Sinagporean. Total Defence also helps to recognise the importance of every individual to make Singapore a better and safer country. Wouldn't you want to feel safe and sound in your own country? Futhermore, total defence is divided into five different aspects to get Singaporeans more involved. They are: Military Defence, Civil Defence, Economic Defence, Social Defence and Psychological Defence. Total Defence Day also marks the day in 1942 when Singapore fell to the Japanese. The commemoration will serve to remind the young that everyone has a part to play in Total Defence Day of Singapore. There is a part for every Singaporean including me, you, you and you!! FOR EVERYONE!! So Let's make time to think of what we can do to help Singapore shall we? Well, we may already be doing some of them. Our appreciation and respect for one another and the different cultures and customs contributes to Social Defence. Secondly, Singaporeans keep fit and responding to mobilisation excercises contributes for Military Defence. This goes on and on. Let's do our part to make Singapore a better place!
